Representative Solutions
Reference architectures illustrating how North Tech Labs would approach a common engineering problem — not a list of delivered client projects.
What a representative solution is
Each page below describes a reference architecture for a common category of problem — the modules, workflows, and technical decisions we'd expect to be part of that kind of system. It's a tool for explaining how we think about a problem before a project starts, not a record of a project we've already delivered.
Representative solutions never include a client name, delivery dates, outcome metrics, or testimonials — if a page doesn't carry an explicit client-case-study label, treat it as illustrative, not evidence of completed work.
- AI Knowledge AssistantA reference architecture for an internal knowledge assistant that answers employee questions in natural language, grounded in an organisation's own documents and wikis — every answer traceable to the source it came from, and scoped to what the asking user is already permitted to see.
- AI Operations PlatformA reference architecture for an internal operations platform that combines structured workflows, existing business data, and AI-assisted document processing and drafting — with human review and permission controls built into every consequential step.
- Customer & Partner PortalA reference architecture for a self-service portal that gives external customers or partners secure, scoped visibility into their own orders, documents, and account data — sourced from existing internal systems rather than a parallel copy of them.
- Document Processing PlatformA reference architecture for a document processing system that extracts structured obligations, key dates, clauses, and risk flags from contracts and compliance documents at scale — built around a review and redlining workflow where a person confirms every extraction before it's treated as fact.
- Energy Asset Management PlatformA reference architecture for a software platform that consolidates energy asset data — from meters, EV chargers, and sensors already installed across multiple vendors and sites — into one monitoring, alerting, and reporting view for operations and sustainability teams.
- ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)A reference architecture for a custom ERP platform that centralises production planning, inventory, procurement, and financials — built to integrate with a manufacturer's existing MES, WMS, and accounting systems rather than replace them outright.
- Fleet Management PlatformA reference architecture for a fleet management platform that turns existing telematics and GPS data into real-time vehicle visibility, coordinated dispatch, and proactive maintenance scheduling — as a software layer on top of hardware a fleet already has.
- Healthcare Workflow PlatformA reference architecture for an administrative healthcare workflow platform that combines appointment scheduling, a patient self-service portal, and referral coordination with an integration layer connecting to existing EHR/EMR systems — scoped entirely to administrative and operational functionality.
- Manufacturing Execution System (MES)A reference architecture for a Manufacturing Execution System that tracks work orders, machine activity, and quality checkpoints on the shop floor in real time — coordinating execution, not business planning or finance, and designed to work alongside a plant's existing ERP.
- Warehouse Management System (WMS)A reference architecture for a warehouse management system that combines mobile scanning, real-time inventory tracking, and pick/pack/ship coordination — integrated with existing ERP and transport management systems rather than replacing them.
- Enterprise SaaS Platform
How a representative solution fits together
Every representative solution links back to the service discipline it draws on, the industries it's most relevant to, and the technologies its reference architecture is built with — so you can see the concrete engineering context behind it, not just an abstract description.

Tell us what you're trying to solve. We'll tell you honestly whether it maps to a pattern we've documented, or needs its own architecture from scratch.
